This expansion module connects to any MaxxECU via CAN to add four pulse inputs, twelve analog 0-5V inputs, four 12V outputs, and four H-bridges. Housed in a compact, IP68 rated, powder coated aluminium case with a SuperSeal 1.0 Connector, this is built for reliability in the every environment. The module communicates via CAN and appears directly inside MTune with any MaxxECU.
MaxxECU Expansion Module Analog Inputs
Accepts 0-5V analog or digital signals, max 24 V.
Digital threshold: 3 V. Selectable 2.5 kΩ 5 V pull-up resistors.
Analog update rate: Selectable up to 2 kHz. Input resistance: 200 kΩ.
Switches/buttons and other slow signals in digital mode.
Note: Ethanol sensors, etc. are not supported here - use PULSE inputs instead.
MaxxECU Expansion Module PULSE Inputs
Accepts digital or VR signals, max 200 V, up to 30 kHz.
Input resistance: 62 kΩ.
Selectable digital, VR input or custom thresholds.
1kHz max update rate transmitted to the ECU.
MaxxECU Expansion Module 12V outputs
12 V sourcing output for general loads.
Active = 12 V, off = floating.
Max 5A continuous. Protected against overload, short circuit. Flyback protection 30V.
PWM up to 20kHz.
Update speed 2ms (GEN1), 0.5ms (GEN2) (depending on CAN-bus load).
MaxxECU Expansion Module H-bridge outputs
12 V push-pull (half-bridge) output for motors or loads.
Active = 12 V, off = ground.
For bidirectional motors (e.g., throttles): connect the load between two H-bridge outputs.
For general loads: connect the load between one H-bridge output and ground.
Overload and short-circuit protected. PWM current-limiting.
Max 7.5A–15 A (selectable), 10A continuous.
PWM up to 20kHz.
Update speed 2ms (GEN1), 0.5ms (GEN2) (depending on CAN-bus load).
