He built a half million dollar racing Honda...

“Race car driving is an intense sport, and for those who do it often say they enjoy the exhilaration it brings.

It is like a symbiotic relationship between man and machine; working together almost seamlessly.

Some drivers push their cars in excess of 240mph (386.243 km/h) to be the fastest thing on four wheels on the race track.

Jerome Gafoor, a father of two from Chaguanas has dedicated more than 20 years of his life building and racing cars.

Gafoor is a mining consultant by profession. In his spare time; the 49 year-old is often under the hood of a car tinkering away.

He is one of approximately 40 competitors who will vie for the championship trophy and bragging rights in one of the biggest racing events in Trinidad and Tobago.
